Van sharing!!!!

Post by Surfpostie »

Just goes to show how wrong Royal Mail were to suggest going back to 2 in a van,now that we are going back into lockdown. What will their next ridiculous idea be. Also what will the guys who went back to van sharing now do? Take care guys & try & stay safe

Where are you hearing this?

I hope so

It has to be one of the most ridiculous decisions they have ever made with no reasonable justification for it other than being worried about profits before our health and safety.

We are important and our health and safety comes first.......to a point

Then we are expendable

An utterly shameful decision and ye know what - I dont even think they will reverse it as they'd have to admit that it wasnt safe in the first place.

EDIT - sorry misunderstood your post, I thought you had heard it was stopping not that your thinking it should

its not just a case of getting vans if you dont have the staff to fill them and to do the job in the first place, and what about p&l non drivers ? how would that help them ?

Will the no-letter Saturday return?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

I said no to van sharing and was asked why? I informed of the regular news bulletins and the rise in cases, and they informed me that I would be taken off my walk and my walk given to someone who was willing to van share! So much for the "no pressure voluntarily van sharing".

I had similar situation with manager who has told me I am going back n hct duty next as my partner wants to van share and I do not, I told rep and he just said it’s voluntary and as I am not prepared to do it he has put someone else on duty who will! So I have to go on hct, so it’s voluntary but if you don’t do it you will get moved so I come in on time take break on work to my time happy days !!

There are only so many HCT jobs, so you all need to adopt the Spartacus approach

Some DOs might not even have any HCT jobs if they're too far away from the area that they cover

At the moment all the hct's are taken so I just keep out of the way until they come up with another plan to get me off my walk.
