Got my start date!

So after a kind of smooth application process that first started on the 11th July, I’ve had my background checks completed successfully and my start date is the 24th August.

I’ll keep you updated as I go......

Congratulations on landing the role. Can I ask if you had experience of a similar type of role previously? What do you think it was that won you the role? Thanks in advance.

No previous experience whatsoever. I’ve been on the bins for the last 15 years and prior to that mainly HGV work in various sectors. I’ve been furloughed for the last 5 months and decided I wanted to do something different. I was told there was over 400 applicants and only 3 interviews for 2 positions so I consider my self pretty lucky.

That HGV experience will come in handy, RM is always looking for lorry drivers :)

First day at RM done & dusted.

Went as I expected with some training on PDA’s followed by some videos to watch. Had a tour of the building with an in depth look at how you guys sort things in the mornings (most of which went straight over my head).

Tomorrow looks like I’ll be out shadowing someone which I’m looking forward too.

Hardest part so far is trying to order uniform!? Why can’t they just take your measurements and order on your behalf? The phone number doesn’t work, the link to dimensions tells me I don’t have permission, HR sent me another link which allows me to log in with my Payroll number but won’t let me go past my personal details screen.....
