Refused sick pay (less than 1 year service)

Post by RMCJA96 »

Developed concerning symptoms yesterday so booked a test. Was told when calling the sick line that I won't be receiving pay during isolation due to being at RM less than 1 year. I did ask that I had heard differently but the answer was just a flat no.

Do they have an option to register sickness due to CV19 (or not) which will therefore decided whether or not sick pay is issued?

I'm sure there was an adjustment in place for these types of circumstances?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Just what I thought. Thanks. I feel awkward contacting my rep about it, I've had so many problems recently - is there anyone else I could speak to? HR?

coronavirus.advice@royalmail.com are very good.

Don't feel awkward about the rep, that is what they are there for, also reps needs to know what is going on so they can flag it up to area.
