A GUNMAN fled empty-handed after his robbery bid was thwarted.
The man walked into the shop part of Fartown Post Office on Fartown Green Road at 8.40pm on Saturday night.
He threatened the 35-year-old shop assistant with a silver gun, but when she called for the owner – a 47-year-old man – the gunman fled.
He is white, aged 23 or 24, around 5ft 8ins and slim to medium build with dark circles under his eyes.
He wore a white hooded top beneath a dark jacket that was either khaki green or black, blue tracksuit bottoms, trainers and a black hat, scarf and gloves.
