Special Leave, do your wages just stop?

Wondering if anyone has done this and how it works. Do your wages just stop or do you get reduced wages over a period of time, like extra annual leave.

Mine totally stop last time I took it I received a pay sleep every week but amount pay is 0

In my experience gross pay went down to £0 but I got a tax rebate so I actually received £45.16 .

I moved onto unpaid special leave this past week and received no wages. I did get about £45 tax back for what ever reason and the CWU sub still came out as did the pennies from pay contribution.
