A d2d about our conditions
How much would this cost? A d2d to every home in the land, explaining how the Royal Mail are not reducing our indoor sorting time and allowing this virus to spread amongst the population through us. Nobody knows if their local NHS has the ventilators for 200 mail centre employees and their families. I bet they don't want their gran to be denied a ventilator because 10 posties are using all of them. How can we conduct a public information campaign and show people pics of us sorting, and the info about survival on surfaces, lack of handwashing facilities and basic hygiene equipment?

I don’t think it’s just the cost. I’m assuming there’s a regulator who oversees what D2D content we can post- that’s why we don’t for example post D2Ds advertising the local adult toy store!
There’s no way a D2D about our conditions would be allowed by Royal Mail or the government. Even if it was, you can guarantee they’d get held up somewhere or the DOM accidentally puts them on a york next to the recycling a few minutes before the binmen come.
Our best strategy is to unite as one - with or without the union - and walk out.

The day is gonna come when we’re all gonna have to testify.

Anyway people would just bin them without looking at it like they do with all the other crap. Also you're saying you want more d2ds & everyone else wants less

The unfortunate truth is that people DO look at D2Ds, or they wouldn't exist, or RM wouldn't be so keen on them. Everyone likes to think they are immune from advertising but it's been shown many, many times that they are mistaken.
I for one would like to see the "rules" on what could be placed on a D2D. They might not be as stringent as we might think. There might be some interesting information that could be disseminated, if people got together to fund it ...

Don’t forget companies book in D2D slots weeks in advance - that’s why we are delivering leaflets for businesses that are shut.
It’s a big ask to find out the rules, fund it, find a printer that’s still open. I reckon you’re looking at 5+ weeks, by then I think people will be so miserable about being indoors (or deaths of relatives) that they just won’t care.
