pregnant fiance with underlying condition of MS

Post by Greg9891 »

My fiancé is 38 weeks pregnant, she also have Ms which and has had chemo to supress her immune system. After watching the news today she has been told to strictly self-isolate and stay clear of most people. Should I also self-isolate? im going to have a word with my dom tomorrow but I just want to know if anyone else has self-isolated and how they have managed. im over 1 year service so if I self-isolate do I get ssp? Or normal full sp?. I know not all my questions can be answered but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Official guidance is that if you live with a vulnerable person you should try and make arrangements to stay somewhere else! Seeing as she is only two weeks to go could you not use some leave? They'll probably say it's unpaid leave as you're not actually sick or required to isolate

Colleagues, including those with less than one year's service, will receive full pay in relation to any coronavirus illness or self-isolation.

If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days.

If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
