First of all, have you actually passed the six month mark and completed the 'trial' period? That’s really important in the event that you do need to take time off. I suspect you might be covered by disability legislation given your lung condition, but it's something worth looking into.pippa12 wrote:Been working for RM for 6 months, and I have a serious genetic lung condition with a lung function of 60% (doesn't affect my ability to work only when sick) so I am classed as vulnerable and at risk of complications if I contract COVID-19. It's making me uncomfortable that I may be potentially visiting customers in self-isolation as a precautionary measure or even worse, sick with the virus. There are around 60 members of staff in my office too and I'm worried about catching it off one of them too. I don't know how long I can continue working while this is all going on, have told my manager but it seems like its a bit of a grey area, I feel as if I'll be penalised if I want to self-isolate for weeks on end with sick pay when I'm not actually sick, the virus isn't even in my area yet but when it comes I think I will have no other option but to stay at home for my own safety. Has anyone else at risk decided on what they're doing? going off for 3-4 weeks until the peak hits?
This is a difficult situation - do you live alone / with someone who would also be self-isolating? If not and you are in a household in which other people would continue to work in a public environment, it might make the issue of non-attendance for that reason more complex. I would be inclined to seek medical advice so that you can figure out the best path forward; establish whether your doctor would be prepared to issue sick notes for as long as is necessary.

I've COPD/Asthma and I'm petrified of catching Coronavirus. I did joke at work a few weeks back that if I caught it that it would probably finish me off. I've stocked up on my ventolin and Relvar and just hoping for the best. Not sure if I come under the 'vunerable and at risk' group as of yet but one thing I'm sure of RM won't care.
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

A colleague today told the dom that he's in the under 70 that's given a flu jab category that the Government advise should stay indoors and got the reply I've never heard of that and when he attempted to show him on his phone the DOM just waved him away and walked off.
