Tupe and exiting the EU

Post by stephen500 »

We know RM for now is rolling back or temp stopping Tupe for parcelforce.
However, this could get more complicated.
Raab (in government) does not like TUPE (or the working time directive and many other protections)
Being in the EU stopped Britain from getting rid of TUPE.
After 31st Dec 2020, we will be out of the EU and perhaps not long after out of TUPE.
That allows parts of firms to be sold off cheaper, as the new owner could be told, you can reduce wages, terms and conditions.
A win, win for the firm selling, they get wads of cash and for the new owner, cheap labour and ready made infrastructure.
