RECENT POSTAL DISPUTE - Managers Instructed to Spy

Post by brothermagrew »

In a letter to all managers, it said that evidence
provided by managers should be collected carefully because
it might be used in court. It said: "Make a note of the
reps movements, noting who they speak to immediately after
leaving the manager's office. "If possible assign
appropriate numbers of managers to closely observe all the
reps/committee members on site but in such a way that this
activity itself does not provoke a walkout). Follow and
make notes. "Observe the picket line using CCTV is
available, take pictures of the picket line (buy a
disposable camera if possible) and make a note of date,
time and who is on the picket line. "Pay particular
attention to any CWU reps/committee members or individuals
who are not from the office in question."

It was clear that the Royal Mail deliberately provoked the
walkouts in order to try to catch the union supporting
illegal action and to take it to court. When the contents
of the letter were revealed, the anger of postal workers
throughout the country was raised. Scottish postal workers
threatened to walk out in solidarity.

RM tried this one in 2003 and got shafted in the Saturday Guardian's front page and in the Star the week after . Wasn't there something in The Voice about it being illegal to spy on rank and file picketers ?

Can well believe it as that DUM from Hell Moderator/Troll off that awful right wing site mentioned it , he didn't last long on here in the lion's den LMAO

.The Voice mentioned that RM had to stop acting like the East German Stasis Secret Police as spying was illegal . A mate of mine from the TUC /Trades Council rang me up and said that company you work for is rotten to it's very core .

Can well imagine it as that DUM from hell with the Leighton /Dracula Avatar off that awful right wing site came on here and mentioned it . He didn't last long on here in the lion's den LMAO
