I’m a bit worried I won’t be kept on. I’ve been there about 9 weeks and me and one other new person have been struggling a bit. I’ve made a lot less mistakes than when I started but I’m still pretty slow. I come back late maybe at least 50% of the time. I’ve started driving but I haven’t been fully responsible for it yet as I’ve only been put on it these last couple of weeks. I’m a bit worried my slowness will be a problem. My partner seems to think I’m pretty much there and I only need to improve a little to be up to standards. Any idea whether it’s likely they’ll keep me on?
Also I am correct in thinking probation is 3 months long?

Chance of getting through probation?
Firstly probation is 6 months not 3.
Also don’t worry too much about being slow and making mistakes. Concentrate on getting the job right rather than speeds at the moment and the speed will come with confidence as you get used to the job and fitness levels improve. Trust me I made some major fails when I first started and due to weight issues was really not the fastest postie. You’ll get there and if you’re worried have a chat to your workplace coach.

Chance of getting through probation?
It is extremely unlikely you will not get through probation.
Being slow or making the odd mistake will not be a reason for you to not get through.
If you keep getting back late, you should instead ask for overtime
