After my initial 4 month contract run out in March. I got renewed till June 1st. After a chat with my DOM today, although he says I won't be terminated anytime soon, he can't guarantee my contract will be permanent anytime soon. (due to overstaffing and pecking order) his words.
When I got word of my 2 and a half month renewal I set about looking for a new job. After a successful interview this past week, it's looking likely I'll be taking it. More hours and better job security.
How much notice am I expected to give if I've only been in the job 5 months?
I've enjoyed the job for the most part but the lack of organisation and management attitudes really doesn't sell it well enough to stick around.

As far as I know, everyone who started since April 2017 has to give 4 weeks notice of resignation. You should have built up some leave entitlement, so if you haven't taken it all you may be able to get out a bit sooner.
Sadly you're not the first to experience the style of management that RM love to use.

How does that work exactly? I've only had a week's holiday since I started. I have a week to take off late May and was given two weeks in September.
I feel for the newer folk who don't see it yet.

It's better to check your contract because there are different rules for Temp and Permanent staff, you may only need to give 7 days notice.
Any outstanding leave that you have accrued should be paid, or, as suggested above allow you to leave earlier.
If you don't have your contract then contact HR and they should be able to advise you or your notice period.
