PHOTOGRAPHS of a vicious dog which savaged a Sheffield postman have been issued to every city-based police officer.
Frequent searches have been carried out of the area around Grimesthorpe where the attack happened, 20 members of the public have rung in with possible leads, and all Royal Mail staff have been informed of the attack and urged to report any sightings.

Local vets have also been asked to alert the police to any dogs which they treat matching Macey's description.

But the dog, pictured left, - an 18-month-old Staffordshire bull terrier crossed with a Japanese Tosa - is still on the loose a month on from the attack in which postman Paul Coleman was bitten almost to the bone.

The 39-year-old postie is still recovering from his ordeal, which happened as he made his deliveries on Rothay Road, Grimesthorpe, the week before Christmas.

But the brown and white terrier, which was wearing a red collar, has still to be found.

My guess is that the owner has it hidden away.
It wouldn't have survived on the street on it's own for any appreciable amount of time. It's the owner who should be caught & strung up! There are too many wannabe gangsters hiding behind dogs that have been trained to be vicious.

There have been several leads? Shame the dog wasn't on one.

They probably can't find the dog because it's an intelligent breed and has almost certainly disguised it's self.
