Snail mail beat: Only 2 postmen for 8,000 houses

Panchkula, January 12 No wonder, mail here travel at a snail’s pace. For, there are only two postmen at the Mansa Devi Post office, which is also a delivery zone for Panchkula, to cater to more than 8,000 houses in the entire Mansa Devi Complex (MDC).

“We are facing a severe staff crunch. But we are managing with what we have. Though the number of letters received for the entire MDC area, which covers sectors 4, 5, Saketri, Bhainsa Tibba village and surrounding villages, runs into thousands, there are only two postmen for the beat,â€
