Wages and tax question. 30 hour contract.

Hi ive just recently started working for royal mail and have received two payslips that i believe to be considerably less than i calculated. And seem to of been taxed more than i thought. In my contract it also says starting pay is £389 per week (pro rata for part time) 《somebody please explain in simple terms what that pro rata pay means lol. Im on a 30 hour permanent contract as a postman. Does anybody know the exact amount i should be taking home as nobody can give me a clear enough answere. And also how much i should be getting taxed? Apologise for the questions im new
