THE FAMILY of a Harborough woman who was found dead in a field eight days after going missing have been left devastated by her death.
The body of Janice Ryan was found by a passer-by in a field to the rear of residential street Hopton Fields on Friday.

The 42-year-old postal worker was reported missing from her Welland Park Road home on December 20.

Her parents Bill and Sheila Monk had made an emotional appeal on Thursday last week asking for information relating to their daughter’s whereabouts.

There had been a reported possible sighting of Mrs Ryan on Sunday, December 23, near Rugby Close, off Farndon Road, Harborough, and police carried out a search of the area along the nearby dismantled railway, but to no avail.

Mrs Ryan had worked at Harborough’s Royal Mail depot for several years and leaves behind husband David and two children Tiffany (12) and Jason (10).

Mr Monk (66), who lives in the town, told a police press conference on December 27: “This is nothing like her. The whole family and kids are worried sick about her.â€

What ever the reason she isnt with us shows she was under stress and needed help....
