Royal Mail Etsy Click & Drop connectivity issue

Royal Mail have reported a connectivity issue this Monday morning meaning that anyone selling on Etsy won’t be able to easily purchase and print out their Royal Mail Etsy postage with Click & Drop.

The incident was reported at 9.19am this morning and Royal Mail engineers are working on the issue but haven’t given an estimated time for a fix to be in place and normal service resumed.

This is the worst possible time of week for a Royal Mail Etsy postage label glitch as on a Monday there are three days worth of back orders to ship. Many Etsy sellers are also part time online retailers and, with longer lead times, will use the weekend to produce products for custom orders and will be keen to get them out of the door.

Of course there are workarounds – it’s still possible to enter orders into Click & Drop manually, but the whole point of a marketplace connector is that labels are automatically produced on demand without any tedious cutting and pasting. Also if Etsy sellers manually enter orders into Click & Drop this morning, they’ll have to double check that they don’t duplicate labels when the issue is fixed and end up paying for postage twice.
