A LUCKY pensioner who accidentally posted £200 along with a pile of Christmas cards got her money back – untouched.
Distraught Olwen Davies, 93, withdrew the cash to use for family Christmas presents and sealed it in a Halifax deposit envelope before realising two days later she had posted it by mistake with a pile of Christmas cards.
Her family immediately called Royal Mail, whose staff tracked down the un-addressed envelope and returned it to the bank’s Queen Street branch in Cardiff.
Olwen’s son-in-law, Val Kacal, then picked it up, still sealed. The great-grandmother of five, of Dinas Powys, said: “This made my Christmas.
“I never thought I would see that money again. I am glad to have the money back and it has restored my faith in mankind.
“The children came round on Sunday and now I can give them money. It is a great feeling.â€

[quote]“If anyone believes they have posted an item by mistake, and they can accurately describe it, they should contact the mail centre and hopefully we will be able to reunite them with their item.â€
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet
Keep on shuf-shuf-shuffling to this ghost dance beat
Just keep on walking down never ending streets
