On waiting list, issue applying

There's been a position put up for my local depot. I was put on the waiting list just last week. I've went to apply for it but for some reason it's saying I've already applied..is this to do with being on the waiting list or has something went wrong? I haven't officially applied at all. The position isn't the depot i was interviewed for, i also had no link to apply as a waiting list candidate in my waiting list email either.

EDIT - I was unsuccessful for the depot in question a few months ago and its still showing as unsuccessful on my profile. I'm assuming this is the issue. Surely that shouldn't matter now that i'm on the waiting list, right?

Email myapplication@royalmail.com to let them know that you want to apply for another position but you can`t, also upload that printscreen, supply the link to that job and remind them that you are a waiting list candidate.

Sent an email off this afternoon with all of the above in it. Titled it 'waiting list candidate'. Wishing I could phone them incase nobody sees the email I sent, I've heard stories about this. Desperate to get this position.

Phoned hr Monday first thing and was given a more direct email address. Sent an email and still no further. The job even come through again today in job alerts..
