Safe systems of work

Is it just me being naive or do all Mail centres /r d c just pay lip service to safe systems of work, were I work postman/ agency regularly move 2/3/5 or more York’s at a time, launching of York’s is widespread including on and off trailers, our managers just stand by and let it all happen even if a postman stands in front of them and pushes a line of 10 or more York’s they will turn a blind eye and let it carry on.the postman themselves seem to think getting the job done is more important than safety which you could say is what the company want now we are a private company but as I point out the 1 st question anyone is asked if a accident happens is were you following safe systems of work.

This has been an ongoing issue at our RDC for years. The past few weeks the line manager has raised the issue of pulling two yorks at a time yet the same offenders continue with impunity.
I once challenged as unsafe act relating to an breach of a SSOW. Verbally with 2 WAMS then in writing to my line manager.
I then contacted the CWU area H&S rep. To cut a long story short as a last resort I contacted Moya Greene via just say it & "Speak Up" whereby the issue was resolved.
