Our normal staffing manager (ETOS) for collections has been on holiday for 3 weeks, she's back next week, as she's been gone our actual collections manager has changed some of the duty times so they finish at the same time.
When the full timers heard of this they rang our rep, who said it was nonsense and he can't just change the times without it going on the board and discussing it with a union rep. The rep then rang our manager who said [sic] 'they're all ok with the change of time' even though he'd asked NOBODY, to which our union rep quashed the time change saying ignore it.
I've now just been rang up (I'm a part timer) by the manager's colleague saying I'm supposed to be in at the time he changed, I'm going in at the usual time until I hear otherwise, does anybody know if he can just change duty times by just changing the duty roster????
Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

No its called Executive Action and you need to contact your rep directly and advise him what happened.
The rep will probably go to disagreement, flashpoint or even mediation, which until an agreement is settled means everything reverts back to the old way of doing things.
Despite what RM managers think they cannot unilaterally change shift times without Union agreement as written into the legally binding AFG agreement, even then if that didn't exist and the CWU did not represent us, they still can't change it at short notice they have to give reasonable notice.
