Hi i have recently started working as a postman - 30 hour contract. I am not particulary fit and i am also advancing in years (50's). the round i am on is very long and also very hilly !! i am struggling with pains in my knees and once home tend to seize up. this is only my second week, is this normal when starting this job and how long before it stops. i love what i'm doing and hope this doesn't stop me being able to do the job. any help and advice would be greatly appreciated

It might ease an a couple of weeks but you could start taking Glucosamine and Chondroitin to delay knee replacement operations by a couple of years.

Might be worth getting checked by a physio/osteo. My knees were painful (before I started) and I found out that the muscles on my outer thigh were pulling my kneecap out of place because the inner muscles were weak. I have exercises to strengthen the inner thigh muscles and it's a lot better now. I'm a few weeks in to the job now and I've had some monster walks - glad you're enjoying it and hope the knees improve soon
