"THEY are all sc**!"

Those were the words that Royal Mail union representative Roy Crampton allegedly used to describe some of his colleagues in a private email.

In the message, intimidating language was used to describe workers who chose not to strike in the recent Royal Mail upheaval.

As reported, Mr Crampton is the Communications Workers' Union representative for the Fotherby Street sorting office in Grimsby.

Mr Crampton is said to have sent the private email to those who he believed were "loyal" union members, at the beginning of the strike action.

In the message he bids his "fellow comrades" to band together as their "fight continues".

The email then "names and shames" 18 Royal Mail workers, and brands seven of them "w****ers" for choosing to cross the picket line on two occasions during past strikes.

The message also quotes extracts from the poem "Enemy at the gate," stating: "You are not worthy of our support, you take our money... be aware that your friends will be few and far between, and your enemies will be close... when you fall."

According to a Royal Mail worker, who did not wish to be named, Mr Crampton was disciplined for the email. However, he has retained his union position, representing the workers his venomous attack was directed at.

The Royal Mail worker said: "In today's society, where unions and companies strive to conquer bullying and harassment, the email sent by Mr Crampton goes against what the union is supposed to stand for."

Mr Crampton said: "I have not been suspended, I am still at work. I was disciplined by Royal Mail for a matter which I do not wish to discuss. It has been dealt with and as far as I am concerned, the issue has been resolved."

A spokesperson for Royal Mail said: "We have a clear disciplinary process in place and cannot comment on the specifics of individual cases." The Communication Workers Union refused to comment on this case.

Well, if you send out e-mails naming names of people who choose not to strike and even worse giving verbal abuse, I can only say is " you reap what you sow "
