Terry Pratt has been the village’s postman for almost ten years, and previously spent a decade as relief postman in the area.
Whitford residents decided to say a special thank you to him for the wonderful job he has always done for the village.
Denise Loud, from Pump Farm, presented him with a cheque from the residents at an afternoon tea party.
Terry and his wife Jan also had a very special treat.
A group of Whitford ladies, dressed in their night clothes, sang a few songs including Please Mr Postman accompanied by Edward Jacobs.
When asked ‘Why the nightclothes’?
“It’s all he’s ever seen us wearing!” they explained.
