Hi can anyone help. I applied for a position in January I have passed all the relevant checks. I was given a start date for 03 April 2017. I have just received a phone call saying the vacancy is no longer available. I have given my notice at work and everything. Doesn't anyone know what will happen next.
Thank you.

I would see if your current employer would let you retract your notice , the more I hear about Royal Mail's recruitment team the more convinced I am a team of trained chimps could do a better job .

Unfortunately that isn't an option. The job is in the Midlands but l live in Wiltshire, so house move and new schools booked. Also I have some on going medical treatment that's being transferred to the area.
Absoluotley gob smacked to be told no job available so close to a start date.
Does it mean I will go on a waiting list now.
On my on line profile it says hired so confused by it all.

Did you explain the implications of the job offer being retracted ? That is a total p**s take mate and I really feel for you . I know RM struggle to retain staff once employed but hearing stories like that has got to put people off from even applying .

Didn't get chance to. It was late on Friday. I was in shock. Hoping they will call me tomorrow or even send an email. I did ask why it wasn't available now but they couldn't say.

Mate that is appalling and completely unacceptable. Two things I would personally do is go down and find out from the delivery office manager what's happened and explain to him your situation and ring HR to help rectify. if that fails. I would say this is an exceptional case to email the CEO and tell her how you have been treated being potentially made unemployed through no fault of your own!

The delievry office is a six hour round trip. I have tried to call but no answer. I have emailed the recruitment team twice but still no reply. I have the removals coming in ten days and schools all in place.
