Britain's State Pension Worst In Europe

Post by Wild Cat »

Not Only are we getting screwed by :cfo and :lfo the government will screw us as well when we retire,a Double Whammy from Liebour.

Millions of Britons are being condemned to poverty in old age by the worst state pension in the EU, a study shows.

The basic state pension of £87.30 a week is equivalent to just 17 per cent of the average wage, it found.

This figure rises to 30 per cent once pension payments related to earnings are taken into account.

But this is still only half the EU average of 60 per cent, the financial firm Aon Consulting said. Its study concluded: "The inadequacy of the state system is beyond question."

Funny isn`t it how the only things this country has to change to be in harmony with the EU are the things that as a result make us worse off.

Oh I don't know. Getting Jan 1st as a Bank Holiday and another Bank Holiday for May Day were good things.

Mmm.. 2 days off not much consolation (for our fishermen and farmers for example) compared to the millions that get bled from this country to the European Union via the Brussels beaurocrats in their cosy offices.

The EU was only ever a bosses club to serve the capitalist class and a gravy train for failed politicians like Brittain and Kinnock.
