Hi everyone,
I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself.
I started as a Cadet with Royal Mail on the 1st November 1982 at the age of 16.
My first job was running around after the Drew Whiteman, the Headpostmaster, and delivering the odd
RMSD that missed first delivery to the city centre banks.
My first wage was £36!
I became a PHG at 18 and spent most of my time either on the secondary sorting or on the Coding (remember the old code desks? lol)
I'm 50 now and been with the company for 34 years.
I work nights on the FSM these days. Heavy going at times. Quiet at other times.
So that's me more or less.
I've had may a good laugh over the years, and many of my old friends have came and went.
The place has changed so much over the years wouldn't you agree.
Perhaps it's time to leave.
Bill
