A skint christmas and steps to take.

Im a pt 25hr reserve that has been in the company 3 years and ive been asked to do afternoon packets from 2pm til 7pm over 5 days which results in no overtime whatsover. I cant come in early because there are no vans until 2pm so my last 2 wages have been really poor. 3 months ago we had a new lad start on the same hours and because he isnt familiar with all the rounds he has been put on a duty and has been coming in at 5am which gives him around 20hrs overtime a week. There are also 2 other packet men that are starting at 3am to sort stack out then going out with packets at 8am til 4pm so they must be on very good overtime too. They are also reserves but have been employed 10yrs.

Question is, is it down to seniority to get the most overtime? I feel cheated that my wages in December will be a lot worse than any other time of the year. Do I stand any argument with my manager?

Overtime is not down to seniority, it is usually goes to their little pets 1st, go and speak to your rep.

It should not be down to seniority, it should be on hours over the year. It amazes me how it differs between offices.
