After several failed attempts and interviews I finally got a job at RM, albeit as a Christmas Casual at a new Mail Centre that's opened up. I'm expecting it will be very busy as I'm doing 22:00-06:00 nights Thursday, fri, sat.
Just wondering what to expect on the first day, I assume a site induction followed by lugging mail sacks around, loading and unloading trucks etc

Knowing absolutely nothing about where you'll be working, I'd still say there's a good chance you'll be sorting parcels. And parcels. And more parcels.
One piece of information you might find helpful is that Royal Mail uses a lot of collapsible carts called "Yorks." A canvas pouch is sometimes placed on the York to carry packets. This is a "red sleeve."

If you're working in a mail centre, I'm sure you'll be introduced to them on day one.
Otherwise, they might put you on sorting letters but it seems about a week or so too early for that.
