Induction Day Query

Post by 1975 »

Hello All,
Ive just received my formal offer of employment and email to attend the induction day, I was just wondering what sort of things we will do and what to wear, just so I am as prepared as I can be! Also wondered what sort of time scales people generally waited before getting there uniform issue?

Any info greatly appreciated!! :Very Happy

As above, jeans, trainers - casual wear

You'll learn about Royal Mail, taking notes, (we had quizzes, games to play)

My manager said he won't order uniform til 6 weeks as that usually when people decide whether to either leave or stay...

You should be given a hi vis once you work though. Again comfy shoes/trainers til they give you a pair as your feet will ache.

Hi please could you go in to a little more detail regarding induction day, can't wait to start work, but the induction day I'm not looking forward to as I don't like standing up and talking in front of people :-( so more info of the day would be great thank you

There's no standing up in front of others it's a very laid back day the only awkward bit will be when you introduce yourself to the group (name, previous job and which DO you will be in) but just remember they will all feel the same as you

Yeh as above, you will do an introduction ( name, Where you will work, what made you apply to Royal Mail) then I had videos which we had to take notes, had a few games top trumps with other companies, looking at cards and writing down the needs of particular service, remembering game, quiz.
You can ask questions if you want (my first was where was the toilets lol) ...

It's all about The Royal Mail, it's a relaxed day but you will learn quite a bit that you probably didn't know... But it won't be anything to do with how to do your job, that will be on your first working day...
