AN INSPIRING mother and daughter team are on a mission to raise thousands for a cancer charity this weekend in memory of much-loved Cleethorpes postman Shaun Wright.
Determined to raise both money and awareness of the devastating disease, Becky launched the Shaun Wright Foundation in his memory, which has since generated a staggering £18,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Action.
And the mother and daughter duo want to raise even more when they hold a family fun day on Sunday at noon at the Linden Homes Club.
Becky, 43, said the family have been overwhelmed by the support they have received from both friends and complete strangers since Shaun's untimely death last year.
"It is really nice to do something that keeps you busy but also raises money and awareness for sufferers of pancreatic cancer. It's quite humbling," she said.
"What has amazed me is the amount of people, some who are complete strangers, who have ran marathons and done things like Tough Mudder in his memory.
"It is such a great charity but they are not widely known. They offer so much support."
Becky added that they continue to receive help from the charity, which is headed by chief executive Ali Stunt, who has also suffered from pancreatic cancer herself.
A representative from Pancreatic Cancer Action will attend the family fun day – the latest event the committee at the Shaun Wright Foundation has helped to organise.

At 1pm there will be a charity football match played between Shaun's friends and relatives and his former colleagues at Grimsby Post Office.
There will also be plenty of entertainment on offer for all the family, including a bouncy castle, climbing wall, an owl demonstration and a cake stall fronted by Shaun's daughter Lucia.
The experienced postman made many friends during his time out on his rounds in Cleethorpes, a job which he did for nearly 30 years.
As was his wish, Shaun was taken to the Grimsby Crematorium in a red Post Office van, followed by his former colleagues in a fleet of around 40 Royal Mail vehicles.
Asked what he would have made of the charity work his family and friends have done in his name, Becky said: "I'm hoping he would have been proud but I don't think he would like seeing his face on the posters everywhere!"
