Unsure of what I am doing

Post by MoyalRail »

Hi there,
my first shift is in a couple of hours and I have received my induction. I was told how to use a York and how to empty bags. I still have no clue as to what I am actually doing. The clue is in the name yes, but if I am just sorting mail why do I need to use the York? Does anyone have a rough guide to casual mail sorting. Please don't make fun.

Once you have sorted the mail it has to go somewhere so that it gets sent on to the right offices. There should usually be a yorkie to stack boxes of sorted mail in, but if there isn't at least you now know what one looks like and how to operate it safely.

You don't really get told what to do properly, I'm afraid that its a case of learn as you go, if your unsure ask someone, some people are really friendly and help you lots, some not so much! Dont worry you will pick it up quickly, iv been there a few months now and still dont know everything but it gets easier
