So basically about 18 months ago i applied for a job as a postie. I made it to interview, which went well, and at the interview i was told i would hear if i was successful after a week. I gave it 2 weeks, but still had heard nothing so assumed i was unsuccessful. I was out of work at the time, having been made redundant from my last job, so after i gave up hope on the postman job i started applying for different things. An agency managed to find me another job very quickly, and i started working there 1 week later (3 weeks after the postie interview).
However the day after i started working at my new job (just over 3 weeks after interview), i received a call from head office of royal mail offering me the job. It pained me as i had really wanted this job as a career change, but felt it wouldn't be right to leave my new job a day or two after starting, so i told them i had another job offer and turned the royal mail offer down.
Fast forward 18 months to the present day, and i am relocating up north. I would love to try to become a postman so have been keeping an eye out on the royal mail jobs, and noticed today they are recruiting in the area i am hoping to move to. So i will be applying for it but the question i have is - Will the fact i turned down a job 18 months ago go against me in my new application for this role?

Will it damage my application if i have previously turned down a job offer?

Would of thought it would be ok.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
