Candidate waiting list

Post by Steph140292 »

Hi all, I recieved an email yesterday saying I had been added to the waiting list due to higher scoring candidates. Ive already sent an email for a similar job but have not heard back. What will happen if I am not selected within the 3 month timescale, the interviewer said he would be sending off my documents for the crb/dbs check. Surely this wouldnt be done if there wasnt going to be some sort of job offer? Or is this just routine so you are fast tracked for other posts? Any help appreciated, Thanks

Candidate waiting list

These types of question are worth google searching first as it brings up lots of answers from previous threads. I made that mistake last week.

What I have fathomed is that most of those who do get put on the list do eventually become employees, usually through a random phonecall.

One thing i noticed in the 'unsuccessful but added to candidate list' email, is that once you send an email to express an interest in a role, you are taken off the waiting list until an outcome is reached. So you'd have to apply in the normal way, ive decided not to risk missing out so apply both by email to recruitment, and also in the normal way.
Ive not had any response to any email ive sent so im doing everything I can

If anyone could clarify this waiting list process?

Thanks for your reply, I really want this job but cant help but feel like im in limbo. I've read similar posts, but have'nt seen anything about what happens after the 3 months. I'm really starting to lose hope as im getting no replies. All i can do is keep checking for similar jobs and emailing/reapplying. Hopefully i get some answers soon thanks.
