Ambulances at the junction of Berry Street and Duke Street, where a man in his 70s was hit by a Royal Mail van this morning
A pensioner has been knocked down by a Royal Mail van in Liverpool city centre .
Police and ambulances were called to the junction of Berry Street and Duke Street at 12:36 this afternoon to reports a vehicle had collided with a pedestrian.
Two ambulances and a police car were seen at the junction, but the road has not been cordoned off.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said the injured man, who is believed to be in his 70s, suffered injuries to his right knee including swelling and a cut.
The injuries are not described as ‘life-threatening.’
The driver of the red Royal Mail van, which is a Fiat Doblo, remained at the scene with the emergency services, the spokesman added.
