Standard Reference?

Post by mrusty5 »

Hello there,

I was a Christmas Casual at Dorset Sorting Office last year from November 2015 - January 2016 (though I was only there for three weeks in December as explained on my paperwork). I was wondering how I could obtain a reference from RM for future non-RM job applications. My leavers pack says I should send a letter to the Third Party Enquiries Team in Sheffield to obtain a standard reference. Do I have to send a letter each time I apply for different jobs and how many days would it take for a response?

Any help or advice would be very welcome.

Do it once and get and keep in a really safe place copies.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
