Rush-hour traffic was hit by long delays on the A43 in Towcester, Northants this morning after a Royal Mail lorry crashed into a ditch.
The crash happened at around 7.30am this morning, when the lorry was travelling towards Northampton from Towcester on the A43.
It was between the A5 junction and Tiffield junction when the lorry, for reasons unknown, suddenly left the road and hit the metal safety barriers on the side, before ending up in a ditch.
Police and a recovery team were on site to clear up the scene, which forced the closure of one lane, causing long delays for traffic in the area.
It was eventually cleared up at 8.45am and the lane was re-opened.
