On what day do Angard/RM weeks start?

Post by blu-tac man »

I'm an Angard flexible casual worker, currently earning £6.75ph, and dreaming of the day I complete 12 consecutive weeks and move up the pay scale to £10ph :Very Happy

I understand I have to work at least one shift each week for the 12 weeks, and wondered what day of the week Angard/Royal Mail use as the first day each week - Sunday or Monday (i.e. do weeks run from Sunday to Saturday or Monday to Sunday?) I'd be a bit grumpy if I was only offered a Sunday shift and it was the first day of the following week, rather than the last day of the current one, as that might mean re-starting my 12 week clock.

Unless it's changed your first 12 weeks the week runs from Friday night shift to the following Friday day shift, once you are AWR qualified the week runs from Saturday to Friday. You don't have to do 12 consecutive weeks to qualify for the higher rate. There can be breaks in the qualifying period as long as they are not more than six weeks at a time. The higher rate kicks in from the 13th week that you are paid.
