PostNL has announced the national launch of a same-day parcel delivery service.
Customers who order goods with participating online retailers before noon can have their goods delivered between 6:00 pm and 9:30 pm on the same day.
The service currently runs from Monday to Friday.
PostNL said that it has launched the service with nine participating online retailers (or “webshops”) but it plans to introduce more partners in the future. The company anticipated that the same-day delivery service may be particularly popular with customers purchasing electronic goods, gadgets, food and wine.
The consumer will be charged a “small fee” for the service.
The same-day delivery service officially started yesterday (16 November). The “webshops” participating in the launch are: Fonq, Alternate, wijnvoordeel.nl, wijnbeurs.nl, Scheer & Foppen, cameranu.nl, EDC Internet, Kookwinkel Oldenhof, and belsimpel.nl.
