What the hell is the minimum criteria

Sent a christmas casual application through Angard, got an email back saying I would be invited to a recruitment open day ... guess what ... nothing happened

Not one to be put off I hit the apply now button on Reed site, seemed like a genuine R.M application this time.

Spent an hour filling it all in and uploading c.v to go with it, submitted it and within 5 minutes got an email from R.M christmas casual recruitment team, saying I do not meet the minimum criteria!! ... obviously automated as nobody had had time to read it.

Question for anyone who may have a clue .... What the hell is the minimum criteria I obviously don't meet ????

By the way ... I'm an ex R.M employee, spent 12 months at Manchester main sorting office on Oldham Rd M4, worked on the loading/unloading bays, sorted letters/packets/small parcels, worked on international mail, late shift/night thru's, Piccadilly station emptying the mail train (this was some 18 yrs ago) I may be 59 (if that's part of the criteria) but my current job involves plenty of footwork humping sacks a lot heavier than most at R.M ... So what is this strange criteria I don't meet ??

Depends how long you left RM.
I have tried to get my mate in our place on a part time shift.But because he only left RM in April he can't apply . Apparently you can't work for the RM group for 2 years after leaving a previous position.
Maybe thats the reason they have not accepted your application.

Was actually back in the late 90's.
Left on good terms after having a chat with H.R (personal reasons that were affecting my work and didn't want to do long term sickie on them)
Just can't work out what this 'minimum criteria is, unless they think at 59 I'm too old for the job but can't officially say

Did you leave more than a 2 week gap in the dates on your work history? I think the computer rejects those automatically (or used to )
