ROYAL MAIL: SUNDAY AND BANK HOLIDAY COLLECTIONS

That this House notes with concern the decision taken by Royal Mail and endorsed by Postcomm and Postwatch to end the collection of mail on Sundays and bank holidays; is equally worried that this decision appears to have been based on a survey of 1,000 people; considers that there was a failure properly to consult staff, unions, the public and hon. Members, and that customers are only being informed of the change by the presence of small stickers being placed on post boxes; and calls on Royal Mail to think again about this decision and its consultation processes.

Our Mail Center has asked for volunteers for Monday morning to go in and do a 'relief collection' as they're worried about the amount of mail coming into the place. If they get snowed under then Joe Public can then say it's because you've stopped Sunday Collections and this is publicity they don't want. Dunno whether this will be a regular Monday thing now Sundays have finished or not.
