Furious shoppers want to know when the town's Post Office will reopen, almost a month after it shut without explanation.
Little movement has been seen at Greenhills Post Office since staff pulled down the shutters on Friday evening, September 25.
Since then, people have been unable to renew passports, car tax and use some other services unavailable at Woodside Post Office at the Co-op on Lincoln Road, or at the Post Office in Heckington.
And it means that some people are being forced to travel to Lincoln – a round-trip of almost 40 miles.
Now, almost four weeks on, there is still no sign of activity at the Post Office, despite a spokesman telling the Target three weeks ago that the company was "committed to restoring the service to the community as soon as possible."
The Post Office, which has been open for around 10 years in Southgate, is temporarily closed until further notice due to "operational reasons", according to a Post Office spokesman.
Sleaford resident Alan Ward said: "There's no sign up or anything at all. No one knows what's going on, it's a disgrace.
"It really needs highlighting and making a bigger issue of – a lot of people aren't in a position to travel to the other Post Offices.
"It's disgusting the way it's been handled. There's just been no communication.
"A lot of people rely on being able to get to that branch at that end of town and it can't be good for the businesses that use it either."
Greylees resident Susan Owen said: "It's awful – now we have to go to the Post Office in the Co-op and that branch doesn't offer all of the services that the Southgate one did – you can't do your car tax there.
"There's been no notice at all, no one knows what's going on and they are having to travel – we need to know."
One man travelled 12 miles in from Timberland, whose Post Office shut earlier this year.
He wanted to renew his passport, but was left frustrated when he discovered Greenhills was shut and Woodside did not offer the service.
The man, who asked not to be named, said he was then forced to drive to Woodhall Spa to sort it.
"It's inconvenient," he said.
"It was a wasted trip. I went all the way to Sleaford and couldn't do what I wanted to do."
A Post Office spokesman told the Target that the previous statement issued three weeks ago still stands.
It read: "We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by the temporary closure of the Sleaford Post Office branch.
"This is due to operational reasons.
"We would like to reassure customers that we are working hard to restore the service to the community as soon as possible and are committed to maintaining services in the area.
"In the meantime, customers can access Post Office services at any branch, the nearest being Woodside Post Office."
