I need advice please???

Post by cstd3 »

Hi everyone

I was successful at interview and I was given a conditional offer of employment subject to pre-employment/ security check, but after waiting almost two months I have been

put on Waiting List Candidate because there were higher scoring candidates. I did apply for couple of positions by e-mail to myapplication@royalmail.com and I received a

phone call from royal mail where I was told that only one of them was still available , my application will be fast tracked and I have been sent the link to apply for it.

In the e-mail I have been also advised that after completing my application,I should ignore further e-mails from royal mail because I do not need to complete any tests or

attend a further interview and I will be considered along with other candidates and they will notify me of the outcome as soon as possible.

I checked again the vacancy I applied for online just for curiosity and it states "Sorry, this position has been filled" but on my candidate profile it just shows testing even if

I don't have to take any assessments. I am very confused and my mood is not so good because I have been waiting a very long time. I would appreciate if someone could

give me some advice and if knows how long it will take for an answer and the chances of getting this job.

Thanks a lot

There is always a delay between the candidate's status and whats actually happening. I think its entirely possible, though not certain obviously, that you are the person that is soon to fill the vacancy and they are just slow advising you. The delay may be caused by a further background check as they run out after a certain amount of time. I wouldn't lose hope though, turnover of staff is very high even though its a well paid job, and even if not successful first time most who get on to a waiting list usually get taken on at some point.

Good luck.
