Contract wording.
Having received and read through my contract, there's a section that worries me, "period of employment" it states "the reason for your contract being for a fixed term is that it is anticipated the requirement for your employment is likely to cease on or about the expiry date because of business reorganisation" it then goes on to say, "this date reflects our expectation of when the need for your service is likely to come to an end but this could be sooner or later." This makes me think that at the end of my 12 month contract I might be gone...

Re: Contract wording.
Its a standard phrase in Royal mails Temporary contracts, be they 1 year, 3 months or even 2 weeks. It will have no bearing on whether you are kept on after or not. This is a common concern for Temp staff on here.http://www.royalmailchat.co.uk/communit ... =2&t=51253" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: Contract wording.
I've just got my contract through the door after working for RM for 6 months saying I'm now on a fixed term for the next 12 months saying the exact same thing.
I think this is just so they can cover their back if they do want to get rid of you but I like to think if you keep your nose clean and do the job as instructed you'll be fine.
