Which shoes did you pick?

Post by peshwaarinaan »

I'm going to order the trainers but debating whether to order the Doc Martens or the Cat Safety boots. Any advice?

Starting next week on 6-months.

Manager sent me an email asking my shoe size as he was ordering me a pair; "...what choices do I have..." asks I...

"...boots or trainers..." says he...

Given the impending winter weather...I chose boots...

No idea which ones or what to expect when I get there next week. I guess I will be using my own footwear for a while and then see what happens. Will ask my OPG colleagues for their advice.

When I rang up Dimensions, they asked if I wanted trainers or boots. I asked for trainers and was sent an Anvil pair. Just sent them back due to not fitting (size 5 and a size 4). Going to wait until they get them back and order a pair of Cat boots. The Magnum boots come in half sizes, so may try them also.

The CAT boots are very heavy for this job, order them but only wear them when its really bad. DMs are better but take a while to wear in.

The YDS trainers are actually OK in winter as long as the snow isn't too deep, and they are waterproof.

I wear YDS and once they are broken in I find them really comfortable
The CAT trainers gave me shin splints and I was in agony at first I thought it was a football injury but as soon as I changed to the YDS it got better

Magnum boots are all i can wear. Tried most others. Cat trainers were good but they dont do them anymore. Tried the other 2 brands of trainers. Cheap rubbish. Killed my feet and fell to bits and were really slippy in the wet. Comfort is key bearing in mind how much walking you do. Magnums are comfy. Dont last that long but just get new ones when worn out.
