Hi Guys, did eveyone in there first few weeks feel muscles, pains and tweeks they never had before. My back is hurting and my knees are killing me.
Any advice?
They told me not to bother with a trolley as it's easier to carry it all. I think I might try a trolley from next week.
even if it slows us down.

Re: back and knees...
Hi Sarah,
I would use a trolley, they are a bit of a pain getting up kerbs but will take the strain off your body for sure. The guys in my DO said if I've got two bags its better to take a trolley. I only have a Saturday contract but have been doing a little overtime too and I would say for the first two weeks my arms and legs ached. Nice soak in the bath when you get in helps and if I feel a tweak in my lower back or shoulder I rub some deep freeze gel on it and Its fine the next day. I've also bought some JointGuard by BioCare as a food supplement to help with all my joints.
Hope things are getting a bit easier for you. When you go out in the van with your P&L partner don't they help you out, both the guys I've had have driven me round the loops I'm to do and point out any awkard bits for me, they also take the majority of the larger parcels for me too. I've still made mistakes and they really good about it. At the end of the day its post, we are not performing life saving operations so try not to let it worry you. Really felt for you the other day when I read your post and didn't want to read and not reply. I've found most people friendly in my office and they are willing to help out if I ask them anything.I have even rang the DOM and Line Manager a few times if Im not sure about something, and a couple of the mail guys have given me their mobile numbers to call if I need help with anything.
Take care
Alison

Thank you for kind reply. Ii has not been an easy first week, and tbh, theguy I've been with hasn't been very helpful. He is retiring very soon though. So perhaps that has something to do with it. The guy I had on Saturday was the reserve for he day and he was much more helpful.Flora wrote:Hi Sarah,

I'm just going to try and do my best and I can't do anymore then that. I will definitely use trolley. Good plan. The parcels, he gets me to take them all with me to be more efficient, however Im not sure he's right about that. I'm pleased I've had a few days off to get my head back into perspective. I'll see how next week goes
Thank you,
Sarah
