A postman was attacked in a Kingston street this morning.

Police were called to Surbiton Road just before 10am to reports of an assault on a postman on his morning rounds.

No arrests were made but a man was detained under the Mental Heath Act.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers attended and spoke to the victim. The suspect was at the scene.

“Due to concerns about his behaviour, his safety and the safety of the officers, the man was restrained.


“He was then detained under the Mental Heath Act. He was not arrested.”
