Residents in Sark have been told there is no evidence that their post has been tampered or interfered with, despite allegations made in the Island's newsletter.
A letter to every household from the Guernsey Post Chief Executive says a full investigation has now concluded and both the police and Guernsey Post found the allegations to be completely unfounded.
The Editor of the Sark Newspaper gave the following response...
The Guernsey Police were unable to obtain evidence that it was staff at the Sark Post Office who did it. Their investigation was inconclusive as no individual or group of people was brought to justice for the crime of intercepting and tampering with mail. Nevertheless, the fact remains that someone did.

According to Kevin Delaney, "Many islanders therefore do feel that a dark cloud of suspicion remains over the Sark Post Office, as reported in my publication."
