Customers advised to contact Royal Mail if they are missing items



Police are investigating an alleged theft of mail from a Royal Mail employee on a postal delivery round in Chiswick last month.

The items were reportedly taken from a locked trolley on 26/27th February.



A statement from Royal Mail said: "We apologise to customers who may have been affected and we have written to them to advise them to contact our customer service team on 03457 740 740 if they have any queries about their mail.


"Royal Mail has reported this incident to the police and we would urge anyone with information to contact them. The safety and security of mail is of the utmost importance to our business and fortunately incidents such as this are rare."

A letter has been sent to residents in the affected area in Chiswick advising them if they are concerned to contact any expected correspondents to inform them, so they may make alternative arrangements if necessary, including contacting Royal Mal about any posted items that may have been affected.

The letter says that all possible steps are being taken to recover any stolen mail items.
