Police warning over postal scam

RESIDENTS in the region are being warned of a postal scam which could cost victims money.

Cambridgeshire Police and The Trading Standards Office are offering the advice.

It comes as the build up to Christmas begins, when people are more likely to be expecting parcel deliveries.

A card is posted through your door from a company called PDS (Parcel Delivery Service).

It suggests they were unable to deliver a parcel and that you need to contact them on 0906 6611911. This is a premium rate number.

People are being warned to NOT call this number as this is part of a mail scam originating from Belize.

If you call the number and you start to hear a recorded message you will already have been billed £15 for the phone call.

If you do receive a card with these details, then contact Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 2396655 or ICSTIS (the premium rate service regulator) at www.icstis.org.uk.

we had these cards some time ago that we we had to deliver,until it was pulled up with the managers,then we didnt see them again,thieving barstards,the sad thing is there are probably some people out there that will think its royal mails cards i expect..
